EATING WELL:
LIVING WELL

A collective vision, setting out how we will work together to increase access to affordable, nutritious, sustainable food and create a thriving food system that is healthy, resilient and fair.

Co-developed by Calderdale Food Network in partnership with Calderdale Council Public Health, the strategy reflects a shared commitment across the borough to creating a healthier, fairer and more sustainable food system, and provides a framework for collective action over the coming decade.

Our strategy builds on many years of collaboration and the significant achievements already taking place across Calderdale.

It has been shaped through partnership working, lived experience and contributions from more than 200 stakeholders, including community organisations, local producers and farmers, voluntary and faith groups, education and health partners, businesses, youth organisations, community growers, emergency food providers and climate action partners.

Together these voices have shaped a shared vision and a framework of five interconnected themes that will guide action through to 2034 and beyond.

The strategy is a 'call to action' and a platform to bring partners together to develop a region-wide, cross-sector action plan which will include practical steps to ensuring that everyone has access to the food they deserve.

Across Calderdale, food already connects communities, supports wellbeing and strengthens local identity. By continuing to work together we can build a food system that enables everyone to eat well and live well.
